Pamela Gay Hughes

Feb. 24, 1951 – Dec. 7, 2021

Pamela Gay Hughes, 70, of Altoona, died early Tuesday morning at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Clyde and Ila Jean (Garlitz) Drugg. On April 29, 1972, she married Martin Joseph Hughes at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Altoona.

Surviving, along with her husband of 49 years, are two daughters, Kristen A. Hearns (Sean) of Falls Church, Va., and Melanie J. Kissell (Nathan) of New Paris; two grandchildren, Delana and Brody; a brother, Barry Lee Drugg (Becky) of Big Canoe, Ga.; two nephews, Christopher Drugg (Ashley) and Matthew Drugg; and three sisters-in-law, Barbara Franco (Alex), Kathleen Graffius and Jeannie Workinger (John).

Pam was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School. In 2018, she retired from Stay & Play Preschool, Altoona, where she was a preschool teacher for more than 20 years.

She enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking, but most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Per request of the family, there will be no services held at this time.

Memorial donations in honor of Pamela can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 198, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.

Arrangements are by Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.

 ❄️🥀  Pam was always so friendly n well liked.  She sure struggle over the last few years. RIP Pam,u will missed n remembered by a lot of us..  💓🙏🏻☃️😓

Martha Quay (Laird)

Many. many of us will always think of her as sweet and pretty (gorgeous eyes) and well liked.  She certainly deserves to "Rest In Peace" after some of the health struggles she had.
