Joseph Michael Spreng

1951-2016

 Joseph Michael Spreng passed away unexpectedly in Willits, California on December 27, 2016 at the age of 65. Joseph was born on May 3, 1951 in Moorestown, New Jersey to Joseph F. and Katharine C. Spreng. He graduated from Altoona High School in Pennsylvania in 1969. Upon graduation he served three years as a Marine and was an active service member during the Vietnam War. Joseph is a retiree of the Metro-North Railroad where he spent a long career as a locomotive engineer. Joseph is survived by his children, whom he shared with former spouse, Kathleen L. Spreng of Clinton, CT: Erin Garrie and her husband, Christopher Garrie of Penfield, NY; Shaina Spreng and her husband, Anthony Costanza of Albuquerque NM; and, Tara Obuchowski and her husband, Rusty Obuchowski of Clinton, CT. He is preceded in death by son, Joseph S. Spreng of Clinton, CT. He leaves behind six grandsons; Kyle and Ethan Garrie, Andrew and Alexander Costanza, and Everetteand Beaumont Obuchowski. Services will be private. The family requests any memorial contributions be made to The American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association.
