Charles "Chuck" Peterman

Charles “Chuck” Lamar Peterman, 68, of Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020, while at Frick Hospital.

The son of George F. Peterman and Bernice (Christian) Smith, he was born Jan. 28, 1952, in Fort Bragg, N.C.

Chuck was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School and received his bachelor’s degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He had been employed as a registered professional geologist in the environmental, oil and gas industries.

Chuck was a member of the Keystone Elk Country Alliance, All Seasons Trap and Skeet Club, Penfield Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Riders Black Horse Chapter 141 and the American Legion. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving are his mother, Bernice Smith; wife, Louise (Brown) Peterman, whom he wed Dec. 28, 1973; daughters Laura Miller and her husband, Heath, and Dana Allen and her husband, Christian, all of Wilmington, N.C.; grandchildren Christian and Elle Miller, both of Wilmington, N.C.; siblings Michael D. Peterman and wife Patricia, Eva Sue McDonald and husband Michael, Georgia Viers and husband Paul, Luanne McGee, Carl Travis and wife Nancy, Peggy Adkins, Everett Travis and wife Lynn, Susan Craven and husband Chuck, and Tim Travis and wife Niccie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, George F. Peterman, and siblings, George L. Peterman and Donna Spillane.

A private memorial service will be held at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home.
