Joe Michael

Dec. 3, 1951 – Dec. 22, 2021        

Joe Michael, 70, Hollidaysburg, transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home with Jesus on Dec. 22, 2021, after developing complications from COVID-19. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph Sr. and Betty Lou (Kauffman) Michael.

Joe is survived by his wife of 42 years, Becky; two daughters: Mandy Kennedy (Wade) and Kristen Clinich (Josh); a son, Adam Michael (Tiffany); seven amazing grandchildren: Daisy, Piper, Caleb, Christian, Eli, Grant and Jonah; and a sister, Cindy Michael.

Joe began his career as a surgical technologist at Mercy Hospital and retired from UPMC Altoona Surgery Center after 41 years.

He attended Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg. Pastor Bryan Kurty, officiating.

Over the past several years Joe and his wife, Becky, have provided much needed supplies to the children of Ghana. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations as well as basic hygiene and school supplies can be donated to Becky Michael in memory of Joe as she continues God’s work, which they started together.
