Roy D. Keller Jr., 68, Tyrone, formerly of Altoona, died Sunday at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, after complications from a motorcycle accident. 

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Roy D. Sr. and Beverly (Sigrist) Keller. On March 27, 1976, he married Arlene F. Claar in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters: Michelle (Donald) Gunsallus of Tyrone, Kristen (Michael) Keller-Williams of Blandburg and Jessica Keller at home; four grandchildren: Tyler and Mackenzie Gunsallus and Austin and Katelyn Williams; a sister, Jackie Hartmann of Coudersport; a nephew, Patrick Parsons; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Henry.

Roy graduated from Altoona Area High School and attended Duquesne University. He retired as a machinist at Norfolk Southern with 27 years of service. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves when he was called to active duty to serve in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He later served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Single Action Shooting Society. 

Roy enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family and was an avid target and competition shooter.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, the Rev. John L. Emig officiating. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to the family.
