Tommy Lee ‘Tom’ Hollows      

June 2, 1951 – July 30, 2019

Tommy Lee “Tom” Hollows, 68, Altoona, passed away Tuesday after a brief illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Donald and Winifred (Rosser) Hollows. He married Darlene Filer on June 10, 1972, in Altoona.

Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Darlene; his son, Joshua Hollows, and his wife, Cherean; a special sister-in-law, Deb Johnsonbaugh, and husband, Kim Headdings; his brother-in-law, Ralph Filer, and his wife, Julie; three sisters: Julie, Toni Weyer (Shawn) and Robin Bice (Shawn); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tom was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He retired after 30 years as a machinist from Norfolk Southern. 

Tom was a member of Riggles Gap Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed reading, walking his dog, Sparrow, at PSU Altoona and through East Juniata and spending time with his family. He had fond childhood memories of spending time with his “Mom-Mom and Pap” Rosser.

Friends will be received from 3 until the 5 p.m. memorial service on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tommy’s name to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue.
