Darlene Diane ‘Dee Dee’ Metzger

Darlene Diane "Dee Dee" Metzger 70, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 18, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on February 7, 1951 in Altoona daughter of the late George A. and Mircella E. (Jones) Gutshall. Surviving is her husband David R. Metzger whom she married on July 13, 1974. Also surviving are two daughters-Shelly Mueller (Chris), Carly Metzger; a son Michael Metzger (Mandy): 9 grandchildren-Emily, Claire, Amy, Boston, Logan, Preston, Triston, Kamron, and Michael; a sister-Deborah Trozell and two brothers-George Gutshall Jr. and Gilbert Gutshall; many nieces and nephews, and her dog companion "Taco". Darlene also had many special friends and cregivers from Integrity Home Care and Home Nursing Agency UPMC. Darlene was a Former President of Ladies Auxillary SAlvation Army and a member of Grace Bible Church. There will not be a viewing/visitation however a celebration of her life will take place at Frankstown Twp Memorial Park Gesseytown on Saturday June 5, 2021 with Pastor Dave McClanahan officiant. Memorial donations in Darlene's honor may be made to the RA Foundation, American Diabetes Association, The Central PA Humane Society, or to Smith Corner Church, East Freedom, PA. Arrangements are in care of The Good Funeral Home Inc.
