Cathy L. Skelley

Cathy L. Skelley, 67, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona following a battle with cancer.  She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Samuel and Sara (Lafferty) Graham.  She married David J. Skelley on Aug. 16, 1969 in Altoona.

Surviving are her husband; a son, David J. (Pam) Skelley, Jr. of Altoona; two daughters:  Angelique (Bruce) Kirsch of Patton and Jennifer M. Skelley of Altoona; eight grandchildren:  Zac, Tyler, Maura, Emma, Evan, Luke, Sienna and Brienna; and a brother, Samuel Graham of Tyrone.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Sheetz.

Cathy was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School and retired from Penn State Altoona in the food service department and had previously worked as a bartender at Rubine’s bar with 20 years of service.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church.  She enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona where an 8 p.m. vigil for the deceased will be held.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Fr. Ronald Osinski, celebrant.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Cathy’s memory to ARC of Blair County, Becky Sheetz Recreation Center, 431 Jackson Ave., Altoona, PA  16602.
