Donald G. Coffman, 65, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday morning at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown.

He was born in Altoona, son of Raymond and AnnaBelle (Varner) Coffman. On Oct. 23, 1982, he married Tracy L. McGee at First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are his wife, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage; three daughters: Rachel Coffman of Hollidaysburg, Shannon Covert and husband, Greg, of Clearfield and Tami Hansen and husband, Matt, in Missouri; four grandchildren: Esme, Joshua, Michael and Addison; a brother, Mark Stevens in Virginia; and his in-laws: Fred and Pat McGee of Hollidaysburg.

Donald was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He attended Columbia College and graduated from Penn State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed at Hawk Hill, 30 miles north of Chu Lai, Vietnam, then in Da Nang. He retired from Blair County Children and Youth Services as an intake caseworker.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking trips with his wife and reading.

Friends will be received from noon until the 4 p.m. funeral service Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg. Full military honors will be provided by Blair County Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cerebral Palsy Association, Epilepsy Foundation or to Autism Awareness.
