I'm so very sad to hear of Jimmy's passing. He was a sweet guy. I've know him since I was 12 when we went to Logan Jr. High,  then on through high school. Our names being Ackeret and Akins, we were always seated near each other in home room.

I was in shock to hear of Jim's passing. We were good friends in high school. His family will be in my thoughts.

Jimmy and I were good friends in high school. He was a fine athlete like his father. Jimmy and I remained close friends throughout life, occasionally seeing one another in Altoona or in Louisiana where I live. He lived in the Washington, DC area, working most of his adult life for the US State Dept from which he retired a few years ago. I had hoped to see him this weekend in Altoona. Life can be unpredictable. Amos H Davis

I graduated high school and college with Jim. It's hard to believe he is gone. I have too many memories of Jim that I will carry with me till I am gone. Rest in peace my friend.
