Robert L. Stevens Jr., 57, Altoona, died early Monday at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Hospital Campus emergency room after cardiac complications.

He was born in Altoona, son of Robert L. Sr. and Margaret "Maggie" (Salyards) Stevens. He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving are his fiancee, Patricia Young of Altoona; children: Heather Yon and husband, William, of Altoona, Cynthia Rogerson and husband, Jeremy, of Moon Township, Michelle Stevens of Dover, Del., Ryan Young and wife, Janet, of White City, Kan., Keith Young of Avalon and Erin Young of Holiday, Fla.; his mother, "Maggie" Stevens of Hollidaysburg; sisters: Nancy Riley and husband, Timothy, of Altoona and Lori Smith of Camp Hill; nine grandchildren: Joshua, Chris, Christopher, Paula, Savannah, Rachel, Brynn, Emily and David; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

Robert was a social member of the Newburg Volunteer Firemen Association and a lifetime member of the Heidelberg Country Club.

Robert was a military veteran, serving two years in Germany in the Army during the Vietnam era as a radio repair technician. He also served with the Maryland National Guard.

Robert served with the Lakemont Volunteer Fire Company as a junior fireman and later served with the Oxen Hill, Md.,Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a printer by trade, spending the majority of his working years in the Washington, D.C., area.

Robert was an avid fisherman, NASCAR fan and an accomplished guitarist.
