David Dale Spahn, 67, Kissimmee, Fla., passed peacefully at his residence on Saturday from pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Dale and Jean (Jones) Spahn.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 43 years, Patricia (Springman); two sons: Christopher and Jonathan (Jessica); a granddaughter, Mackenzie; and a sister, Karen Brown and her family, in Tennessee.
David was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center for 25 years before relocating to New Jersey. He retired to Florida in 2015.
He enjoyed fishing and could usually be found cheering on his favorite sports teams: the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays.
He has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
