Richard James Schmidhamer, 45, of 125 4th Ave. died early Thursday morning, April 27, 1995, at Oakland VA Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 30, 1949, in Altoona, the son of James and Catherine (Amerine) Schmidhamer. He married Oe-Sun Yoon.
Mr. Schmidhamer retired as a carpenter specialist from the Air Force in 1978, after eight years of service. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School.
Mr. Schmidhamer was road manager for Bill Ross Jr. and Crazy Roy, a member of CBs for CDs which patrols and provides traffic control and security, Iaia American Legion and James L. Noble VFW Post.
Surviving are his wife; his mother of Altoona; two sisters: Linda Nail and Joyce Certeza, both of Altoona; and a brother, Allen of Fayetteville, N.C. A brother, John, died in 1982.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Stevens Mortuary.
