Sally Lee ‘Sal’ Stetter

July 10, 1951 – Sept. 25, 2022

Sally Lee “Sal” Stetter, 71, of Altoona, passed away Sunday evening surrounded by family. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Joanne (Benzel) Pfeffer. 

Surviving is her significant other, Ricky Lafferty, of Patton; three children: Bobbi (John) Denny of Altoona, Michael (Connie) Stetter of Blandburg and Mary Jo (Johnny) Cox of Altoona. She was blessed to be a grandma to five grandchildren: Megan (Steven) Fleming, Bryce Denny, Ohen, Olivia and Octavia Leigh Cox; and three great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Bennett and Lainey Lee Fleming. Also surviving are two sisters, Deborah (Dave) Smith of Lakemont and Gretchen (Bob) Blackie of Altoona; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Brock Denny.

Sally graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1969 and then became a homemaker and mother. Later, in 2000, she became a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg, and retired from there in 2012.

Sally loved being with her family and friends, going to the beach, playing Bingo, attending gun raffles, camping, the casino and collecting turtles.

To know Sally was to love her. She was always the life of the party and was truly one of a kind. She will be missed so much by all that knew and loved her, especially her beloved dog, Gizzy.

Anyone wanting to pay their respects is welcome to a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at New Life Community Church, 621 Bell Ave., Altoona. Services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Casual attire suggested.
