James A. Miller, 65, Altoona, passed away Wednesday after a long battle with dementia and cancer.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late James E. and Mildred (Laich) Miller.

Surviving are his loving wife, Debbie (Balestino) Miller; three children: Brian, Sean and Jennifer, all of Altoona; and a sister, Susie Stacey of Altoona.

James was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was employed at WTAJ-TV with 32 years of service.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum, Altoona.

So sorry to hear of jimmy passing on. It's been a bad time for the class of 69 . I have many good memories of jim and his sister sue. we all grew up together in juniata and shared many good times. so long my good friend.

Jimmy was always a very kind person. I have many good memories of the "Silk Mill" gang and great kickball games in front of Jimmy's house. Good times at "Club"  in 5th and 6th grades.
