Terry Wayne McManuels

Terry Wayne McManuels, 70, died unexpectedly on Monday June 7, 2021 at home after battling lung cancer for over 2 years. He was born August 11, 1950 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, the son of Paul David and Betty Welliver McManuels. Terry graduated from Altoona Area High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, he served in the US Navy for 26 years, attaining the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Following his retirement from the Navy, he transitioned to owning a small business. He followed in his father’s footsteps and organized 20 years of military reunions for various Navy Commands. In 1970 he married Nancy Thompson and they celebrated 50 years of marriage last November. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Thomas J. McManuels of Columbia, MD and Paul J. McManuels and his wife Nicci, both of Virginia Beach, VA. Additionally, he is survived by his granddaughter, Samantha McManuels of Virginia Beach; grandson, Alex McManuels of Columbia MD; his brother, Paul D. McManuels Jr. and his wife Connie of Altoona, PA; and his sister Kathy Timmerman of Harrisburg PA as well as nieces and a nephew. Terry will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered under the Navy Burial at Sea program. He will finally get his last deployment. This fall, a Memorial Tree will be planted in Nancy’s home town of Crafton, PA and a small Memorial Service with military honors will be held.
