David B. McCloskey, 19, or 47B Greenwood Road, died at 6. p.m. yesterday of injuries received in a single-car crash two days ago on Route 220, near Herb’s Drive-In Restaurant, at 3:20 p.m. 

The McCloskey car apparently went out of control on rain-slick Route 220 while he was driving north.  

David was born Aug. 16, 1950, in Altoona, a son of Chester and F. Jean (Barr) McCloskey.

Surviving are his parents, five brothers and sisters, Larry A., serving with the Marines aboard the USS Yorktown, Dennis L., Joseph S., Elma J., and Ginger E., at home, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Barr Sr. of Hubbard, Ohio.

David was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Bellwood, the church choir and CBYF.  He was employed at Suter’s Hardware, Altoona.  He was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School.

Friends will be received in the Scaglione Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
