Vince was a close High School friend who was very close to his mother. Dated my sister for a brief time. Once pulled a gun on a couple marines while in my car. The marines had ball bats. Unknown to me Vince had a .38. He looked the marines in the eyes after the marine said he had been shot at before and Vince said between the eyes? Thankfully they ran and he didn't shoot. My life would have been totally different. I thought he had put the gun in fresh concrete at his house to hid it if the police showed up. They did not.

Apparentedly he had not put the gun in concrete. His mother had passed away the year before his death and he got very drunk the day before his birthday and was outside his mother's home waving the same .38 and firing shots in the air. He pointed the gun at the police and they shot him dead, He was not a bad guy, but between the sadness of his mother's death and his loniness, and getting totally drunk, he basically committed suscide by police on the eve of his birthday.

I hadn't ever talked about it before, but today is the 14th anniversity of his death and I felt his memorary deserved the rest of the story. Funny, I was looking at who was coming to the reunion and he came to mind and I looked at his profile and seen the date. Amazing. Not forgotten Vince. I wish you had gotten rid of that gun.
