Stephen Jeffry Huber, 61, Bellwood, died Thursday at Altoona Regional.

He was born in Altoona, son of Harold Faye Huber and Alice Marian (Moyer) Huber Gallice. He married Christy Black.

Surviving are his wife of Bellwood; a stepdaughter, Larissa Yannitelli; a sister, Carol Anne (John) Bartley of Altoona; two brothers: Gregory Alan (Pam) Huber of Madison, Miss., and Shane Michael Huber of Altoona; a very close niece, Kasey Bartley; a special nephew, John Bartley II; and five additional nieces and nephews: Shane and Taylor Huber and Alan, Victoria and Ethan; and his close friend, Chip Good.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Francis Gallice.

Mr. Huber was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He retired in 2006 from SCI Huntingdon as a corrections officer.

He was a member of the NRA, Mountain Top Sportsmans Club, Bellwood Sportsmen and Altoona Volunteer Sportsman's Association.

Stephen spent his spare time with his nephew, John Bartley II, doing the things he loved which included hunting, range shooting, fishing, deep woods camping and four-wheeling.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, officiated by Rick Beatty.

Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shane Huber's name, Stephen's brother, may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
