So sorry to hear that Paul has passed. There were five of us who hung out at Edison Elementary and somewhat in the early years of Logan Area Jr. HS....Ralph Williams, Amos Davis, Steve Lightner, Paul & myself.

We had lots of fun. They were the only friends that ever visited my home from outside the neighborhood. I remember trying out for little league while at Edison. Paul, Steve & Ralph were excellent ball players; Amos & I not so much! I rode my little 20" bicycle from Edison to Mill Run several nights a week until I was cut from the team. Neither of those things would ever happen in this day and age.

I'll never forget Paul and I went downtown to Walgreens or Woolworths and bought two cheap rings for our girlfriends - it was 7th grade and we didn't have any money. Anyway, Paul liked Marianne S. ( so did I ) so he told me I needed another girlfriend, so I asked Karen to go steady. Later when he & Marianne "broke up" so did Karen & I. Ha ha - crazy Jr HS times.

You'll be missed Paul.

I was saddened when I read that Paul Hargreaves, a good friend of mine from my Logan Area Junior High School days, passed away recently at his home in Tennessee. Paul was one of the 'cool kids', and let me into 'his' circle. Back in those junior high days, we'd talk to one another on the phone in the evening. I'd sometimes get my parents to take me to his house just off Goods Lane. We'd walk over to the mall or go bowling. He was a heck of a bowler, and an athlete......and a friend. We were both graduates of the Class of 1969 at Altoona Area High School. I've only seen him once since we graduated 48 years ago...at the Altoona Full Gospel Church, when he visited with his Aunt Betty Shaneyfelt. I thought about calling him about a year ago after I tracked him down on the internet. I never did...and I regret it now. If you've thought about calling a family member or an old friend...don't just think about it...do it! Rest in peace. my friend!
