Carl Gregory Frank, 63, Ashville, died Sunday evening at UPMC Altoona after an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles and Helen C. (Reagan) Frank. He married Charlene E. Hencherick on June 12, 1971, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Altoona. Surviving are his wife; two children: Kyle T. of State College and Kimberly A. (Thomas) Muffie of Ebensburg; two grandchildren: Joshua and Emily Muffie; and a sister, Kathleen Frank of Sarasota, Fla.

Carl was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a sergeant in the Vietnam War and received a Good Conduct Medal. He retired on Sept. 22, 2012, as a bank equipment technician at Diebold Inc. with 40 years of service. Carl attended the former St. Joseph Catholic Church, Coupon. He was a member of the Cesare Battisti Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Jones Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, Father Brian Warchola officiating.
