Elaine B. Reffner, 64, Roaring Spring, died Thursday evening at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Mary L. (Ickes) Dick and the late Carl E. Burket. On Dec. 11, 1978, she married Ronald P. Reffner in Winchester, Va.

Surviving are her husband; her mother of Roaring Spring; a son, Corey P. Reffner and wife, Lindsay, of Claysburg; a granddaughter, Regan; and a sister, Carol Ruscito of Claysburg.

Elaine was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School, as well as a graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. In August 2015, she retired as an LPN from Nason Hospital after 44 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, her dog, Nash, and spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Pastor Tim Mock officiating. Interment will be at Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.

Contributions in Elaine's memory may be given to American Cancer Society, Blair Unit, 1004 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.

Remember Elaine well from both Jr. n Sr. High School. We were in color guards together at Keith. Was a very nice girl. Often wondered what ever happened to her.  May she RIP. 🐇🌷💗
