Virginia "Ginney" Stacey, 61, Beech Creek, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, surrounded by her husband and five daughters.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Blair and Margaret Burk. She married her soul mate, Robert Stacey, on Aug. 1, 1970.

Surviving are her parents; her husband, five daughters: Kim Stacey, Tammy Prentiss, Bobbi Jo Hummel, and twins Jennifer Glossner and Jamie Stacey; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Vicki Moyer, Patty Everett and Donna Baker; and a brother, Blair "Bud" Burk Jr.

Ginney was preceded in death by a grandson, Devin Stacey of Beech Creek; a nephew, Brian Stacey of Altoona; her mother-in-law, Florence Stacey; and her father-in-law, Joseph Stacey.

Ginney was a 1969 graduate of Altoona High School. She earned a degree in business from Lock Haven University at the age of 55. Ginney retired from Lock Haven University after 23 years of service as head secretary of maintenance.

Ginney enjoyed crocheting, collecting angels and Betty Boop and spoiling her bulldogs, Jersey and Gidget.

Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Blanchard Church of Christ. A memorial will begin at 4 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at Schencks Cemetery in Howard, where she will be laid to rest. A dinner reception will be served at the Blanchard Church of Christ following the services.

Arrangements are by Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall.
